Falling hair, bald spots, and lifeless hair are common themes among the aging population. Hair fall occurs due to a variety of bodily changes that aging brings with it; however, it is a problem that is now extremely common among the younger population too. Nutrient deficiencies, bad genetics, and stressful routines all contribute to hair fall and can cause huge aesthetic problems over time.

At Syra Aesthetics, we offer a quick, easy, and hassle free solution for hair fall. Microneedling with PRP is a miraculous solution to treat hair fall and give you a youthful, rejuvenated, and younger appearance.

How Does Microneedling Work?

If you are looking to understand the process of microneedling, the simplest way to explain it would be skin pricking. What microneedling does is prick the skin at multiple locations to create minute wounds. The thought of getting micro wounds may sound bizarre, but the principle behind it is extraordinary.

Puncturing the skin and creating minute wounds causes the release of repair proteins like collagen, elastin, and growth factors which stimulate hair growth, along with putting an end to hair fall. At Syra Aesthetics, we use a microneedling pen to puncture the targeted skin on the scalp to release essential proteins that kick start repair and prevent hair fall.

What is PRP?

PRP or platelet rich plasma has revolutionized various aesthetic treatments. PRP is a biologic solution that has all the nutrients and growth factors in it without the blood cells. It is derived from the blood of the person seeking PRP therapy, and when applied to the hair, it causes hair rejuvenation, facilitating growth.

PRP is prepared by spinning the blood sample obtained from the patient in a centrifuge for roughly 15 minutes; this separates the dense components of the blood sample, making them settle at the bottom of the tube, leaving behind plasma which contains growth factors and collagen.

How Does Microneedling Work When Combined With PRP?

Combining PRP with microneedling is just like using two separate extremely effective therapies and maximizing their benefit by combining them. Microneedling punctures the skin and creates minute wounds causing protein release and repairing of the scalp for healthier hair growth.

Combining PRP therapy with microneedling just compounds that effect. PRP has growth factors that seep into the scalp much more effectively after microneedling has made minute pricks in the skin of the scalp. Both therapies cause quick and accelerated hair growth and can effectively treat bald spots, while diffusing hair loss.

What Happens During The Procedure?

At Syra Aesthetics, our experts make sure that the clients are given the best possible treatment and experience, bundled with extraordinary results. Prior to the procedure, a full medical checkup and discussion is carried out to understand the expectations of the clients and to verify any medical conditions that could cause harm during the procedure.

On the day itself, PRP is prepared in a centrifuge by obtaining blood from the client and then the procedure begins. A microneedling pen is used to puncture the skin and then PRP obtained from the client is applied to the scalp and rubbed gently to let it diffuse in the skin layers. A typical session is completed within 30-90 minutes depending on the area of the scalp being treated. Our aestheticians suggest that clients get their treatment sessions done 3-6 months apart as to give the scalp a chance to heal.

What Precautions Should Be Taken Post Procedure?

Client specific instructions are given to all our clients by our expert aestheticians. Generally, it is advised that all hair products should be avoided for at least 8-6 hours after microneedling with PRP therapy. Any activity that may contribute to scalp sweating should be avoided as this is associated with the risk of developing a bacterial infection. Therefore, excessive physical activity like engaging in sports, saunas, or intense sun exposure should be avoided for 48 hours post procedure. Products like caffeine and tobacco hinder the natural wound healing process and should also be avoided for better and quicker results.
