Dermaplaning Explained

Dermaplaning at Syra Aesthetics is an extremely safe and non-invasive aesthetic procedure that involves removing the top layers of your skin to reveal a fine and smooth skin underneath. The procedure utilizes a scalpel that gently exfoliates your skin by removing dead skin cells to give you a more youthful and radiant skin.

Its ability to target deeper levels of your skin makes it a perfect solution for deep acne scarring - However, along with removing dead skin layers, this treatment also removes thin hairs on your face and neck that are commonly known as peach fuzz.

How it Works

Dermaplaning is a cosmetic procedure that works on the same principle as that of shaving. Using a sterile blade at a 45 degree angle, the aesthetician will scrape debris off your skin that may be the reason for your skin’s uneven look. This exfoliation of your skin is completely safe and non-invasive, which means no pain or discomfort.

PERFECT FOR EVERYONE

If your objective is to make your skin look silky smooth and clean - there’s nothing better than our Dermaplaning treatment.

It is perfect for those who avoid invasive treatments, either due to personal reasons or some specific conditions such as skin sensitivity.

How Many Sessions are Required
for Optimal Results?

Dermaplaning is not a one time procedure - for long term results it needs to be an ongoing process with multiple sessions. Typically, four sessions can provide you your desired result, but if you want long lasting results, you will need to maintain your treatment plan accordingly.

Our professionals carry out a comprehensive consultation before scheduling you for the treatment. Through these consultations, our aestheticians determine your requirements, along with setting the right expectations.

Recommended Aftercare

After your first session, the new skin that appears after the shedding of all the dead skin cells will be vulnerable - This skin sensitivity usually goes away in three days, but can also last up to a week, since it varies for all different skin types. So you will have to be extra careful for at least a week after the treatment.

The post-treatment care mostly includes avoidance of certain harsh things so it won’t be hard for you to follow the guidelines.

  • Do not expose your skin directly to the sun for three days
  • Stay away from extreme heat
  • Keep your skin moisturized
  • Avoid scrubs or exfoliators at least one week before your appointment
  • Avoid direct sun exposure
